How to Obtain the V-line face

1 Mar

For women, the ideal and most sought after face type is the ever-so-popular V-Line shape. The term “V-line” was coined in recent years by the Koreans while the Chinese often refer to this face shape as the “melon seed face”. Both terms are basically used to describe a slim and oval face that narrows to a sharp end at the chin. The V-line shape is ideal because it tends to make the face look more feminine. While many celebrities and socialites go under the knife for the V-line, I really want to advocate gradual change through daily massage, facial exercises and routine usage of face firming cream. Trust me, it really works.

I’ve seen many girls who are really pretty but there is just a minor set back about their face shape, whether it be a double chin or the extra baby fat around the two sides of the jaw, all of which can be easily fixed by doing these daily “maintenance” routines in the comfort of their own home. 30 minutes daily is all it takes. Just remember, as long as its not a structural bone issue, skin and muscle can be tamed and shaped over time.

Below are three helpful methods that I use to maintain my V-line face.

1. Facial Slimming and Firming Creams

There are two products that I have been using religiously for many years. One is the Shills Firming Facial Cream, which I use mostly during the winter time since it is really creamy and thick. The other is Majiami Incredible Instant Lift Up For Face which is perfect for summer time because it is in a lighter gel form. Use one or the other depending on the weather twice a day, once in the morning and once at night before you sleep. Both of these products are from Taiwan and can be found online.

Shills Firming Facial Cream

What I like about the The Shills Firming Facial Cream is that it has a light coffee smell and it is really moisturizing. But most importantly it really works on making my face slimmer and firmer. It contains double firming ingredients, Caffeine and peptides, that enables lifting and firming effect. Caffeine also helps to reduce puffiness or bloat from water retention. The cream also contains various botanical active ingredients and peptide complex that promotes a firmer, more youthful looking facial contour. Problems like Double chins, round face and saggy-skinned neck can all be corrected. The addition of vitamin C and green tea extract in this cream is also a plus for your skin. You can buy this online at Sasa for under $11. Please note that it will be shipped from Hong Kong though.

Majiami Incredible Lift for Face

The Majiami Incredible Instant Lift Up for Face contains ingredients that accelerates lipid release from fatty storage and enhances the breakdown of fat. Another important ingredient is collagen which maintains and restores skin elasticity. Simply follow the application instruction that is on the package and you are well on your way to the V-line face.

If you can’t find these products online or you want to look for alternative products that can be shipped from the U.S., you can try [amazon_link id="B00006JT6O" target="_blank" ]Oil of Olay’s Total Effects Night Firming Cream for Face and Neck[/amazon_link].

2. Face Exercises

Like your body, you face also has many muscles that can be worked out to help create a more visible contour. Here is quick face exercise that works out the jawline muscles.

3. Facial Massage

Here is a diagram of how to massage your face.  You can do this while you are using your makeup removing oil or when you are ready to put on your face slimming/firming creams. Remember to always massage your face using a bottom to top, inner to outer motion.

For those of you who are interested in preventing or getting rid of existing double chins. Here is a simple massage exercise that works wonders. I call it the under the chin slap. Lift your neck up slightly as if you are looking at the ceiling. Use the back of both of your hands and flick (or slap) the bottom of your chin in a quick upward motion (as if you are saying F off using Italian hand gesture) alternating with both hands. Do the left bottom of the chin first for about 1 minute and then work over the right bottom of the chin for another minute.

Under the Chin Slaps

Daily face massage can also help stimulate lymph nodes in the neck and behind the ears to drain fluid build-up by toxins responsible for many ailments. Regular lymphatic drainage massages can maintain a smooth flow of fluid, healthy lymph nodes, not to mention better skin.

In addition to massaging with your hands, there are also many face massage tools you can get online such as [amazon_link id="B004RPKGDU" target="_blank" ]massage rollers[/amazon_link] that can help with your face slimming and firming endeavors.

For all you younger girls out there or girls who already have the V-line face who are thinking that this doesn’t concern you. Think again. Age and gravity will eventually take its course. So never undermine the power of preventive maintenance. It is an important aspect of beauty that every modern girl should take into consideration. You should always care for these things and take preventive measures before the saggy skin, double chins and wrinkles develop. As the saying goes, there are no ugly women, only lazy ones.

      Hi Lu

You are still young and still developing and your face is still changing. I do not look the same as I was when I was 13. If you have baby fat, these are good tips to start helping you shape your face so that in a couple of years your face can also achieve the V line (depending on your bone structure)

I have V-line shape face but my problem is I have baby fat on my face and I’m 13 and an asian. Previously, my face was a bit oval-round and I really want to obtain the V-line face shape. So, I put some ice cubes and wrapped them with some tissue papers and massage on my face to shape a V-line. But my problem is, I want to decrease my baby fat. Please help me!!

Hi I have a square jawline but undefined so it looks a bit rounded. Is it possible for me to achieve a ‘V-line’ jaw structure with the facial exercises?

  9. ED March 13, 2012 at 8:44 AM #

Easy solution. Ride your bike, all those gimmicks won’t work. Fat-targeting things don’t really work – you have to really work at it for 6 months +. DON’T EXPECT SHORT-TERM RESULTS.
